 Our Curriculum Intent

At Beltane College, we provide an inclusive, equitable, and supportive learning environment for all young people. We specialise in offering transformative educational opportunities for students who may have experienced disruption to their prior schooling or whose needs were not fully met due to trauma, mental health challenges, or unmet Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Our curriculum is designed around two core evidence-based frameworks:

  • Trauma-Informed Practice (TIP): We prioritise physical and emotional safety, trustworthiness, empowerment, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity across all learning spaces.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL): We plan our curriculum from the outset to be accessible to all, offering varied methods to engage learners, present information, and enable students to demonstrate their knowledge.
